@dustystix76 : Yes. I remember that commercial.
Every time I got a cool new toy, my asshole older ‘brother’ would break it. I’m so much happier that I have no idea where that asshole is. Oh yeah. I’m the ‘bad’ one. Hey Chris-I hope you’re smoking the devil’s dick now. Lynn, too.
For each Xmas in the 70′s when my brother and I were little kids, he would get a brand new Tonka toy vehicle. They were so cool that I was almost as enthralled with them as I was with my girl toys. LOL! His Tonkas included a couple of dump trucks, fire engine, a Jeep-type vehicle w/ removable tires, and more. I finally even got my own pink Tonka “Jeep” w/ flowers on the canopy–perfect for my dolls and small stuffed animals to ride in. I loved that thing! Wish I still had it. It was so rugged!
WOW, Tonka’s were the GREATEST!!! Wish they still made them like they did when i was a small boy. All PRESSED STEEL- NOT MUCH PLASTIC:):):):) My Grandson has a stable of them today, and loves to play with them just like i did. That parking lot commercial was great. Made in the USA.
I had the tonka truck in the advert from 1:40 – 2:10, Those things were literally indestructible, you could take a hammer to it and it wouldnt break, *sigh* i miss those trucks.
I had a pickup and a camper (this was in the 60s). Those Tonka trucks were indestructible.
Great commercials, and great trucks! When we went to Jones Beach, my parents had to schlep my entire Tonka construction division. Probably miles of beach “roads” were graded by me. Robert Moses would have been proud!
when i was quite young…a boy threw his Tonka truck at my crotch….the nut is still busted and im 44 yrs old…and all my kids are highdollar attorneys….yaay Tonka
Now they are made out of cheap Chinese plastic that break after a few times of use. I remember you could take a hammer to Tonka’s and they would not break. They lasted for ever.
Tonkas were great. I had the front loader, grader and dumptruck, and they lasted for years and I loved all the moving parts. Built to last back then.
I had the tonka dump truck in 72 and i could ride that thing down our street hill all day and it never broke!.. And i was known as, “DESTRUCTO” I could wreck anything. But i could not wreck that tonka!!
I had the tonka firetruck in the video as well. I got that around 75 or 76, when, EMERGENCY came out on T.V. I could not break that either. Where were these trucks made?
When that guy was standing in entire parking lot full of Tonka trucks, I almost had a seizure!
Ah yeah, the real deal, i used to ride them down hills and throw them off my roof and they would never break, unlike the new ones that are made from plastic, they are though but im sure an elephant would break them
Nice truck video!!!!!
Tonkas were made in Mound and Toronto. Those Canadian made Tonkas are some of the more valuable. if u find one, grab it
TERESA IS A GOD DAMN LIAR!!!!!!!!!!
i was all about the tonka truck when i was a kid. buddy L made a pretty decent truck also.
All B.S. aside. Tonka did make some overly durable toys. I had that dump truck that they showed in at around 01:20 and it is still around. That’s saying something too, I was hell on toys as a kid! LOL!
tonka made some great trucks, my dad’s first tonka car is still is intact, rusted, but intact I have it with me still
Yes I think I do remember that..
these are good XD!!!
They were made in Mound Minnesota which is a suburb of Minneapolis.
*sigh* they just don’t make Tonka’s like they used to..does anyone remember the Tonka commercial where they ran a real haul truck off a cliff loaded with dirt and a tonka haul truck goin off the same cliff, and a kid pickin up the tonka and walkin off with it?
Where were Tonka toys made?
They really had great commercials.
